Whats Your Favorite Color??

We all have a favorite color. For some it's just one color that stay's their favorite throughout their life and for some, the favorite color changes from time to time.In general, people have a connection with certain colors due to their experiences with objects of those colors. Also the preference of color differ due to societal impact.

Like for Americans blue symbolizes sadness, Black mourning and Yellow fortune. Also in China, Red is considered lucky and auspicious whereas its the exact opposite in Nigeria and Germany.

We Indians too consider Black inauspicious and therefore it's never used in any wedding of religious ceremony.
Today while randomly surfing the internet, i found that's its not only your favorite color that tells a lot about your personality. The colors you dislike can tell you a lot about yourself as well, often reflecting your weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Your most disliked color will relate to areas in your life that need to be given attention or past hurts that need to be healed. It is a good idea to try to incorporate a small amount of your disliked colors into your life by using them in clothing or in your home, to help balance your energies. Rejecting whole colors can create imbalances in your life.
There's no doubt that colors truly impact our lives. Like whenever you go shopping you always feel attracted to clothes that are red or whenever you think of cars, a black sedan always appeals you.

According to color therapy:

Red is the hot, crazy girl of colors, evoking powerful emotions such as fear, anger and passion.Red would be one of the most complicated colors. The mood red conveys changes dramaticallywhen you lighten it (sweet and innocent pink) or darken it (sophisticated burgundy)

Blue on the other hand is considered exactly opposite of red. Apparently it lowers blood pressure. This color has a calming effect because if you look to nature, such as the sky and the ocean, blue conveys tranquility.

Green is the easiest of color. From grass to leaves to other verdant vegetation, the color green is closely linked to the environment, which can put you in a relaxed or refreshed mood. Green also looks good on every skin type and has a wide range of shades that allow you to modify your mood -- from serious and sophisticated to fresh and bright.

Yellow carries both positive and negative connotations -- from sunshine, which conveys a joyous, happy mood to jaundice and sickness.

Black:: Having a “fat day”? Slipping into something black makes you look five pounds slimmer -- instantly improving your mood. But the darkest shade of all can affect how you feel in two other distinctly different ways: Wearing black can be a downer (think funerals) or make you feel chic (think Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”).

Being a girl I have been blessed with the ability to distinguish between the endless range of colors. Like Pink is everything that's Fushia, Baby Pink, Dark Pink, and Magenta, Red inclued Maroon and Burgundy, Blue is divided into Sky Blue, Royal Blue, Dark Blue, Navy Blue, And green is all about Parrot Green, Sea Green, Forest Green, Bottle Green Etc. All the above may seem like an alien language to boys who simple distinguish colors as Red, Blue, Green, Yellow and Black!!!

Yes, we can never have enough of colors. There was a phase during my teenage days when my entire wardrobe was dominated by black. But today I have more of Pinks and Blue's and Red's.

Change is the only constant and for me that applies to the colors you like the most as well!!
